Chanda arrived from Houston on Tuesday. She flew on Southwest (she has to be one of their best customers), but Southwest only flies to Albany and Buffalo in Upstate New York. Albany is closer to where we are staying, so it was off to Albany for Linda in the Geo Tracker to pick her up.

The Geo Tracker only seats two people comfortably, and we needed to leave jump seat in the back open for Chanda's luggage, so Linda drove alone to the airport. It's a 2-hour journey over there . . . a beautiful ride through the Mohawk Valley.

The trip to Albany and back (130 miles each way) took the better part of the day, and Linda was ready for some R&R when they got back to the lake house. Val Dziura had a delicious dinner and a glass of pinot noir waiting.
