Whirlwind

After the Reunion Week ended, things got a bit hectic.  We had invitations to various get-togethers and dinners for nearly every day of this week.   It was humbling to know so many people wanted to see us and spend some time with us.  We are truly blessed to have many friends in the San Diego area, and we did want to spend time with each of them.

On the Monday after the Reunion Picnic, several of Frank's classmates from college (California Western University) got together for some golf.  They played 18 holes at Cottonwood, and a great time was had by all.

Oh, I nearly forgot to mention that Chanda flew in from Houston during the Reunion Week.  Her home office is in Carlsbad (near Oceanside) and she was able to schedule a business trip here during the time that we were in Oceanside.  Even though we did not get to see her until half-way through her visit, we made up for lost time in a hurry.

Our first visit with Chanda included a trip to Acapulco Restaurant in San Marcos to have dinner with Chanda's best friend from high school, Chrys, along with Chrys' husband and son.

A day or two later, we met up with John Kentera and his wife, Kelly, at Tony's Jacal Restaurant in Solana Beach.

Great evening with the Kenteras
The next day we went again to our good friends Bob and Joyce Gural for a barbecue dinner of Bob's Special Ribs and slow-cooked beans.

Last, but not least, was the big Thanksgiving Day dinner at Becca and Louie's.  They put on an enormous (and utterly delicious!) Thanksgiving dinner of turkey, dressing and ALL the trimmings.  Why?  Well, because it was going to be impossible for all these people to get together on the real Thanksgiving Day . . . so, if you can't bring the friends and family to Thanksgiving, just bring Thanksgiving to them!  It was a rousing success.

At the close of this whirlwind week, Chanda had to fly back to her job in Houston.

Frank and Linda took two days off to rest up and get their bearings again.
